Gen. Petraeus Resigns Because of An “Affair”
General Petreaus, the Director of the CIA, has resigned – apparently due to an affair. He holds a Ph.D. From Princeton and is a West Point graduate.
Is there any connection to Benghazi? Why was this resignation submitted today, rather than before the election? Was it necessary for him to resign because of an affair? President Bill Clinton didn’t resign because of an affair, and the presidency is more important than any cabinet post or director position. There has been an argument that Petreaus is resigning because of the possibility of blackmail regarding his affair. Could he not just announce it publicly then, but stay on board as CIA director?
All of these questions are worth asking. We may not know the answers until we see how President Obama handles this resignation with regards to Benghazi.

Memo from the Director
Yesterday afternoon, I went to the White House and asked the President to be allowed, for personal reasons, to resign from my position as D/CIA. After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours. This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation.
As I depart Langley, I want you to know that it has been the greatest of privileges to have served with you, the officers of our Nation’s Silent Service, a work force that is truly exceptional in every regard. Indeed, you did extraordinary work on a host of critical missions during my time as director, and I am deeply grateful to you for that.
Teddy Roosevelt once observed that life’s greatest gift is the opportunity to work hard at work worth doing. I will always treasure my opportunity to have done that with you and I will always regret the circumstances that brought that work with you to an end.
Thank you for your extraordinary service to our country, and best wishes for continued success in the important endeavors that lie ahead for our country and our Agency.
With admiration and appreciation,
David H. Petraeus

I am sure it is…but the Gov. would have us believe he is all of a sudden stepping down because he had an affair, but I don’t buy that for a minute. I believe he is being railroaded out because of the 4 men dying and they want to cover their a….as usual.
You could be right. As we said, we likely won’t know until we see how Obama handles Benghazi.
There is definitely more to this story…we need to find out…
