Obama’s Absence Is His Failure
If they do not come to some sort of agreement this could put the economy in a recession. Obama’s target now is the everyday people, focusing on a toy manufacturer in Philadelphia yesterday. He is hoping this trip along with others in the planning stages will put pressure on Congress to reach an agreement before the January tax cuts expire.
Is it me, or should Obama be a little more concerned about what is going on in Congress rather than traipsing around the countryside ?
This past week, meetings U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice held with Senate Republicans seemed to heighten their concern with her over her comments on the Sep. 11 attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya.
It seems that the Republicans do not trust Rice, now more than ever.
Bottom line, I’m more disturbed now than I was before.
~Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-SC)
We are disturbed by the Administration’s continued inability to answer even the most basic questions about the Benghazi attack and the Administration’s response. Beyond Ambassador Rice’s misstatements, we continue to have questions about what happened in Benghazi before, during, and after the attack on our consulate — as well as the President’s statements regarding the attack.
Obama has defended Rice repeatedly, and is reportedly still considering her for secretary of state.
Rice met with the three Senators in a closed-door meeting hoping to smooth over any animosity on the Benghazi attack. In addition, she sought to gain credibility among the Republicans and help to push the votes needed to support her bid to be secretary of state.
But, the looming question still is, what about the fiscal cliff?
With all these other issues that seem to be “popping up,” it is running the clock out on any possible agreements between the parties. Obama is running around the countryside, and not taking the seriousness of this situation in to account. It appears that Obama is purposefully avoiding making difficult decisions. He was reelected to lead, and needs to get back to the White House to do just that.
Now, if only Obama could figure that out.
