The karma of supporting Barack Obama
There is a school of thought that illicit activities will come back to bite the perpetrator sooner or later. In an earlier post, I cited how several of the Obama and Democrat moves to supposedly help the middle class are turning out the have unintended consequences and are actually hurting the Americans they were intended to help.
This is typical when a person or organization takes an approach that is poorly conceived, not clearly understood, or done to circumvent some valid principle.
Circuit Court Invalidates Obama’s Illegal Recess Appointments
Unless it is taken to the Supreme Court and subsequently overturned, the District Court finally slapped down Barack Obama’s overreaching behavior. The particular issues of note were three choices for the NLRB who were named during a pro forma Senate session which Obama claimed was a de facto recess — even though he had employed just such a season (non-recess) to further one of his issues in his first term. This was also the issue around the naming of Richard Cordray to his powerful position over Consumer Affairs. The over two hundred NLRB rulings made since the illegal appointments are now in serious doubt as to their validity. This could be just the first of several such verdicts. Next up — Church rights against Obamacare‘s contraception rulings.
Unions Discover That Obamacare Is Bad For Them — Poetic Justice
It seems that a new group has discovered the problems with Obamacare, and this time it is a group who supported Barack Obama and the Democrats who crammed Obamacare down Americans throats. I believe this is “poetic justice” after reading some of the comments attributed to labor leaders who figured out that Obamacare is going to hit their unions just as hard as it is hitting American business. Isn’t that ironic? Check what they are thinking and saying:
Labor unions enthusiastically backed the Obama administration’s health-care overhaul when it was up for debate. Now that the law is rolling out, some are turning sour. Union leaders say many of the law’s requirements will drive up the costs for their health-care plans and make unionized workers less competitive.
Top officers at the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the AFL-CIO and other large labor groups plan to keep pressing the Obama administration to expand the federal subsidies to these jointly run plans, warning that unionized employers may otherwise drop coverage. A handful of unions say they already have examined whether it makes sense to shift workers off their current plans and onto private coverage subsidized by the government. But dropping insurance altogether would undermine a central point of joining a union, labor leaders say.
We are going back to the administration to say that this is not acceptable … I heard him say, ‘If you like your health plan, you can keep it’ … If I’m wrong, and the president does not intend to keep his word, I would have severe second thoughts about the law.

Air Pollution In Beijing, China Reaches New Highs
The decades of Chinese ignoring the environmental impacts of their development continue to impact their people and their society. Flights must be cancelled due to limited visibility. Highways are closed due to the dense pollution. The concentration of particulates in the air of Beijing is 35 times the World Health Organization’s safe limit. When things get this bad, something has to give. But what? There are places in the interior of China that are worse yet. Will the Chinese government act? And do what?
This is ironic — as the US struggles with over-regulation, its largest global supplier and contender for the dominant world power is starting to learn the opposite side of that sword. “Fouling your own nest” has its own kind of payback.
As Barack Obama’s second term of “imperial presidency” unfolds, I suspect there will many more instances of Obama’s administration and its policies coming back to cause problems — or be reversed — but only if those that get pushed up to the Supreme Court can be heard before Obama gets a chance to stack the liberal side of the court further. Watch Obama try to run the clock out on the aging members of the Supreme Court so he can name another sympathetic justice.
