God Heeds Our Calls for Help

Seek God to help ease your troubles, and He will be there.

“But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.” –Deuteronomy 4:29, NIV.

The threat of war looms over us again. Despite the rosy picture that the administration tries to paint, the economy is stalled. We’re turning into a part-time nation as businesses try to fend off the high costs of Obamacare. People are still losing their homes. Gas prices remain high, sucking family income down the drain.

GodIt’s so easy to become anxious. We think we can handle it ourselves but then we discover we can’t. We may begin to turn to anything to help us cope: alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling. But, these things are poor substitutes for what we really need – God. Instead of the fullness of life that God wants for us, these things lead to a spiral of pain and despair.

When we don’t know where to turn, we can turn to Him. He won’t hide from us. He longs for us to come to Him. He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to give us a way to be right with Him. A love that strong means that He wants a relationship with us.

So when the bills pile up and illness knocks on the door, seek God. When fear for the future rises up, seek God. When you feel unsure about the next step to take, seek God. He will be there when you call.

What looks impossible to you is not impossible for Him. He may not give you the answers you expect. He may not lead you the way you think you should go. But, you can trust Him. Seek Him. Then, follow Him where He leads.
